H.I.S.D. (Hueston Independent Spit District) - The District (2008)

Brinig you something from Houston. 8 members crew H.I.S.D. (Hueston Independent Spit District) brought back progressive styles of Digable Planets and De La Soul in their own flavour. They are band that underground Hip Hop scene needed. Realy good album that pays homage to the H.I.S.D. hometown with intellectually-minded, straight ahead hip-hop. Even, Ahmir "Questlove" Thomspon has already endorsed this crew on okayplayer website calling them "The next best thing in Hip Hop".

DJ DEVASTATE - Movement/Silence (2009)

Another great release from BBE, a nice blend of head nodding beatcraft, blissful melodies & atmospherics from UK DJ Devastate, giving it a nice balance of grit on the bottom and jazzy Soul sounds floating over the the top!! Cosmic keys and samples both spacey and soulful, always with a raw beat underneath. A nice one for Devastate's full length debut!!

THE TONES - Dreamtalk (2009)

Solid, soulful duo Hip Hop from Retro & Suhns, aka The Tones!! The Tones have a classic schooled sound, with beats by Retro that range from the Soul beats and keys backed sound that feels a bit more East Coast or Midwest than the Tones native Bay Area, and it's just straight up good stuff. Another winner from the reliable Plug Label!!
